Butler Engineering Awarded Overall Fire and Life Safety Advisory for Dh11 billion Dubai Metro Route 2020 Expansion
On November 27, 2013, Dubai was awarded hosting privileges for the World Exposition 2020 (Expo 2020). This catalyzed the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA)’s Route 2020 Project, a Dh11 billion world-class 15 km expansion of the Dubai Metro, comprising 11.8 km elevated and 3.2 km tunneled underground track, with one interchange station, three elevated stations, two underground stations, and the iconic Expo station.
Butler Engineering is proud to have undertaken the overall Fire & Life Safety (FLS) advisory and consultancy for the iconic R2020 project, including review, onsite verification, inspection, testing & commissioning, and authority approval. Facade & roofing, tunnel ventilation & smoke management system, emergency management plan, and fire engineering reports have been the key focus areas. Being a member of the FLS committee, we played a vital role in successful project completion.
